For the man who never gives up on his people.
Two minutes with a strip of paper or a soft tape and you will order the right size first time.
Shown in inches and US sizesMeasure at home in 2 minutes
You need a strip of paper (or a string or shoelace), a pen and a ruler.
With a ring that fits (most accurate)
- Lay a ring you wear on that finger on the ruler and measure the inside diameter, edge to edge, in inches.
- Find that diameter in the table below.
With a strip of paper
- Wrap the strip around the base of your finger: it must still slide over the knuckle.
- Mark where it overlaps, lay it flat and measure it in inches: that is the circumference. Find it in the table below.
Measure at the end of the day, when fingers are slightly larger.
No ruler? A bank card is 3.4" long: count how many fit along your strip.
| US | EU | UK | Diameter | Circumf. |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | 49 | J½ | 0.62" | 1.94" |
| 6 | 52 | L½ | 0.65" | 2.04" |
| 7 | 54 | O | 0.68" | 2.14" |
| 8 | 57 | Q | 0.71" | 2.24" |
| 9 | 59 | S | 0.75" | 2.34" |
| 10 | 62 | U | 0.78" | 2.44" |
| 11 | 65 | W | 0.81" | 2.54" |
| 12 | 67 | Y | 0.84" | 2.65" |

| 14 | 72 | Z+3 | 0.91" | 2.85" |
| 15 | 75 | Z+4 | 0.94" | 2.94" |
| 16 | 77 | Z+6 | 0.97" | 3.04" |
Half sizes sit halfway between two rows (about 0.4 mm of diameter).
Good to know: measure at the end of the day, when fingers are slightly larger. Wide bands (8 mm and more) feel tighter: if you are between two sizes, take the larger one.
Hammered steel around a flash of iridescent shell.
Atlas held up the sky through every kind of weather. This ring brings a flash of ocean color to the hand that does the holding. It is a wide titanium steel band with a hammered texture that catches light from every angle, and set into it is a rectangular piece of natural abalone shell whose colors shift as you move. The inside is polished smooth. Silver or black, in US sizes 7 to 12.
- Natural abalone shell, no two alike
- Hammered texture, polished inside
- Silver or black, US 7 to 12
Details & specs
The band is titanium steel with a wide profile and a substantial feel. The outside is hammered, which gives the ring a rugged character and breaks the light into small flashes as your hand moves. The steel itself resists rust and corrosion, and the inside is polished smooth for a comfortable fit through the day.
Set into the band is a rectangular piece of genuine abalone shell. Its iridescent colors are natural, so no two rings look exactly alike, and yours will differ a little from the photo. The silver and black colors are electroplated finishes on the steel, and we say so. Abalone is a natural material, which is why it asks for a little more care than steel.
How to wear it
Wear it as the only ring on that hand with a plain tee or a knit, and let the shell be the color in the outfit. The black version makes the inlay stand out more; the silver version reads brighter and pairs with a steel watch. It is wide enough to hold its own next to a watch, and it adds texture to a simple, neutral wardrobe.
Choosing your size
Available in US sizes 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12. This is a wide band, and wide bands feel snugger than thin ones, so if you are between sizes, choose the larger. Have his finger sized by a local jeweler for the most accurate result, or measure a ring he already wears on the same finger.
Why this piece
A one-of-a-kind inlay
The abalone shell is natural, so its pattern and colors are unique to each ring.
Texture in the steel
The hammered titanium steel adds depth and catches light from many angles. The steel does not rust; the shell simply prefers to stay out of long soaks.

Questions
Should the hammered abalone ring come off for the shower?
Yes. The titanium steel does not rust, but the rectangular abalone inlay is natural shell and prefers to stay dry, so take it off for the shower, the pool and the sea.
Is the abalone genuine?
Yes, it is a genuine abalone shell inlay. Because it is natural, the pattern and colors differ from ring to ring.
What does the hammered abalone ring pair with?
A plain tee or a knit, worn as the only ring on that hand so the shell is the color in the outfit. It is wide enough to hold its own next to a watch.
What shape is the abalone piece?
Rectangular: one piece of abalone shell set into the hammered band, with colors that shift as you move.
Silver or black to show off the shell?
Black makes the shell stand out more. Silver reads brighter and pairs with a steel watch.
Are the silver and black finishes plated?
Yes. Both are electroplated finishes on the titanium steel.
Is the hammered texture rough?
No. It is a pattern of small facets that breaks the light into flashes, and the inside is polished smooth.
Is the shell pattern the same on every ring?
No. Natural shell varies, so the colors and pattern on yours will differ a little from the photo.
