The band is stainless steel, with a recessed channel cut into the outer face. A miniature curb chain sits in that channel and rotates all the way around, so you can spin it with a thumb without taking the ring off. Stainless steel resists rust and corrosion, which is why it suits a ring you keep on all day.
On the black versions, the edges are grooved, with a fine ribbed line on each side of the chain. Choose all black, black with a gold-tone chain, or black with a silver-tone chain. The black and gold-tone colors are plated finishes over the steel. The interior is smooth and rounded so the band slides on easily.
How to wear it
Wear it on the index or middle finger of your dominant hand, where the chain is easy to reach. Black and gold pairs well with a gold-tone watch or bracelet; all black and black and silver sit cleanly next to steel. It works with a t-shirt and jeans, and stays understated enough under a shirt cuff at the office.
