It is an octagon band in stainless steel: eight flat faces, defined edges and a brushed top that holds a soft light instead of throwing glare. The band is stainless steel, a metal that holds its shape and resists rust and corrosion through daily use. The octagon is cut into eight flat faces with crisp edges between them, so the ring catches light in short, straight lines rather than one continuous shine. The inner band stays smooth and round against the finger.
The wide top face is brushed for a low-glare surface. Silver-tone is the steel itself; black is a plated finish, and the two-tone version adds a gold-tone finish over the black band for contrast at the edges. The black and gold colors are surface finishes, and we prefer to say so clearly.
How to wear it
Wear it alone on the index or ring finger with a white tee and a steel watch, and let the flat top set the tone. With a suit or an open collar, silver-tone reads quietest, black reads modern, and black and gold adds warmth next to a gold-tone chain or bracelet. Keep the rest of the hand bare so the eight-sided shape stays in focus.

Will the black and gold finishes last?
They are plated finishes designed for daily use. Keep them away from harsh chemicals and cleaning products, and take the ring off for heavy lifting or manual work, where any ring gets knocked.
Does the wide shape change the size?
A little. Wide, flat-sided bands feel snugger than thin round rings, so if he sits between two sizes, go up one.
Can I wear it as a wedding band?
