Two minutes with a strip of paper or a soft tape and you will order the right size first time.
Shown in inches and US sizesMeasure at home in 2 minutes
You need a strip of paper (or a string or shoelace), a pen and a ruler.
With a ring that fits (most accurate)
- Lay a ring you wear on that finger on the ruler and measure the inside diameter, edge to edge, in inches.
- Find that diameter in the table below.
With a strip of paper
- Wrap the strip around the base of your finger: it must still slide over the knuckle.
- Mark where it overlaps, lay it flat and measure it in inches: that is the circumference. Find it in the table below.
Measure at the end of the day, when fingers are slightly larger.
No ruler? A bank card is 3.4" long: count how many fit along your strip.
| US | EU | UK | Diameter | Circumf. |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | 49 | J½ | 0.62" | 1.94" |

Half sizes sit halfway between two rows (about 0.4 mm of diameter).
Good to know: measure at the end of the day, when fingers are slightly larger. Wide bands (8 mm and more) feel tighter: if you are between two sizes, take the larger one. Tungsten carbide cannot be resized, so it is worth measuring twice.
A matte band with bright edges, made to take the knocks of the week.
Atlas carried the world. You carry your day: the commute, the desk or the job site, the kids after school. This 8mm band is made for exactly that. It is tungsten carbide, one of the hardest materials used in rings, with a brushed matte center that keeps glare low and two polished beveled edges that catch the light as your hand moves. It sits flat and feels solid on the finger.
- Shower, gym, beach: it stays on
- Brushed center, polished beveled edges
- 8mm wide, five US sizes
Details & specs
The ring is made from tungsten carbide, a material known for its hardness and its resistance to scratches. That is why the surface keeps its look through keys, tools, gym bars and the daily contact that marks softer metals. The inside is smooth and polished, with TUNGSTEN CARBIDE engraved on it, and the band has a reassuring weight on the hand.
The 8mm face is brushed to a matte finish that cuts down reflections. On each side, a beveled edge is polished to a high shine, so the band shows a quiet contrast between texture and light. The tone is a cool silver-gray. No stones and no logo on the outside: just two finishes on one clean, modern profile that works from Monday to Sunday.
How to wear it
The clean lines go with nearly everything. Wear it alone with a t-shirt and jeans, where the matte face keeps it low-key, or pair it with a steel watch when you put on a suit. On the ring finger it reads as a modern wedding band; on the index or middle finger it becomes your everyday ring. Add a steel chain if you want a second piece in the same tone.
Choosing your size
This band comes in US sizes 7, 8, 10, 11 and 12, with a standard fit. Size 9 is not offered, so if you usually wear a 9, check a ring you already own on the same finger and decide between 8 and 10. An 8mm band covers more of the finger than a thin ring, so when in doubt, go up. A local jeweler can also measure your finger quickly.
Why this piece
Hard to scratch
Tungsten carbide is one of the hardest materials used in jewelry, so the brushed face and the polished edges keep their look through daily wear, water and sweat included.
Two finishes, one band
The matte center and the high-polish bevels give the ring depth without any stone or pattern. It looks considered, never flashy.

Questions
Can the 8mm matte tungsten band go from the gym to the beach?
Yes. Tungsten carbide does not rust, so sweat and sea water leave the brushed face unchanged. A damp cloth now and then brings back the shine of the polished bevels.
Will it scratch with daily wear?
Tungsten carbide is extremely hard and resists scratches very well, which makes it a good choice for a ring you plan to wear every day. Keep harsh chemicals away from it to protect the finish.
Is size 9 available?
No. This band comes in US 7, 8, 10, 11 and 12. If you sit on a 9, measure a ring that fits the same finger and choose 10 if you prefer a little room, 8 if you like a snug fit.
What color is it?
A cool silver-gray, the color of the tungsten carbide itself, with a matte center and polished edges.
Is there writing inside the band?
Yes, TUNGSTEN CARBIDE is engraved on the polished interior. The outside has no stones and no logo.
Which part of the ring is shiny?
Only the two beveled edges, polished to a high shine. The 8mm face is brushed matte to cut reflections.
How heavy does it feel?
Reassuringly heavy. Tungsten carbide is a dense material, so the 8mm band sits solid on the finger.
Would it work as a wedding band for a man who works on a job site?
Yes. Tungsten carbide resists the scratches from tools, keys and gym bars that mark softer metals, and the matte face keeps it low-key. Take it off around heavy machinery, as with any ring.
Matte or polished wedding band for a man?
Matte hides small scratches and looks more low-key; polished shines and shows marks sooner. Matte: the 8mm Matte Tungsten Carbide Band, a brushed center with polished bevels. Polished: the Domed Stainless Steel Band Ring, in 4, 6 or 8mm. Both can stay on in the shower and at the gym.
Gift for a boyfriend who is shy and doesn't like flashy things
Choose matte and slim. The 8mm Matte Tungsten Carbide Band has a matte center with polished bevels. The Black Braided Leather Bracelet is all black with a clasp that sits flush. A 1.5mm Box Chain in Stainless Steel stays under a collar. None of them shine across a room.
Valentine's gift for a man who isn't into romantic stuff
Choose something useful-looking and plain: a matte tungsten band like the 8mm Matte Tungsten Carbide Band, or a steel bracelet like the Titanium Steel Curb Link Bracelet. Nothing heart-shaped, just a piece he will wear. See Men's Valentines Day Jewelry Gift.
Tungsten vs stainless steel ring, which is better for a man?
Tungsten carbide is harder, heavier and more scratch resistant, so a band like the 8mm Matte Tungsten Carbide Band keeps its finish longer. Tungsten cannot be resized, so check your size first. Stainless steel is lighter and comes in more shapes and colors, like the Domed Stainless Steel Band Ring in 4, 6 or 8mm. Both do not rust.
