Two minutes with a strip of paper or a soft tape and you will order the right size first time.
Shown in inches and US sizesMeasure at home in 2 minutes
You need a strip of paper (or a string or shoelace), a pen and a ruler.
With a ring that fits (most accurate)
- Lay a ring you wear on that finger on the ruler and measure the inside diameter, edge to edge, in inches.
- Find that diameter in the table below.
With a strip of paper
- Wrap the strip around the base of your finger: it must still slide over the knuckle.
- Mark where it overlaps, lay it flat and measure it in inches: that is the circumference. Find it in the table below.
Measure at the end of the day, when fingers are slightly larger.
No ruler? A bank card is 3.4" long: count how many fit along your strip.

Half sizes sit halfway between two rows (about 0.4 mm of diameter).
Good to know: measure at the end of the day, when fingers are slightly larger. Wide bands (8 mm and more) feel tighter: if you are between two sizes, take the larger one. Tungsten carbide cannot be resized, so it is worth measuring twice.
Clean black outside, warm wine barrel wood against the skin.
Atlas took on the sky so the rest of the world could sleep. Some strength is meant to be seen, some only felt. This 8mm ring shows a brushed black tungsten carbide face with a thin polished groove; turn it, and a wine barrel wood sleeve lines the inside, warm against your finger, with grain you can see. Quiet on the outside, considered on the inside. US sizes 7 to 12.
- Scratch-resistant brushed black face
- Wine barrel wood lines the inside
- 8mm wide, US 7 to 12
Details & specs
The band is tungsten carbide, one of the hardest materials used in men's rings, which is why its surface stays smooth instead of collecting the small scuffs a softer metal would show. The outer face is brushed matte black, a plated finish, with a narrow polished groove running around one side to break up the width.
Inside, a wine barrel wood sleeve lines the band, so the wood is what actually rests against your skin. The grain and tone vary slightly from ring to ring, which is normal for natural wood. Width is 8mm in every size. The metal will not rust, but the wood is the part to look after: keep it dry and out of long soaks.
How to wear it
Wear it on the ring finger as a wedding band or on the index finger as a plain statement ring. The black works with a white tee and jeans, and stays discreet under a shirt cuff with a suit. It pairs easily with a black or steel watch, since there is no gold-tone to match, and a brown leather strap echoes the wood.
Choosing your size
Sizes run US 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12. At 8mm the band covers more of the finger than a thin ring, so if you are between sizes or already wear a wide band, go up one size for easier movement over the knuckle. Tungsten carbide cannot be resized, so measure the inside diameter of a ring you already wear and compare it with a US size chart before ordering.
Why this piece
Hard on the outside
Tungsten carbide is very hard and scratch-resistant, so the brushed black face keeps its look after months of daily use.
Two materials, one band
Cool black outside, warm wood inside: depth you notice up close, with no stones or logos.

Questions
Should the wine barrel wood ring come off for the washing up?
Yes. The tungsten carbide does not rust, but the wine barrel wood sleeve rests against your skin and should stay out of long soaks. Take it off for the shower, swimming and the dishes.
Which size should I order in the 8mm wine barrel wood ring?
Go up one if you are between sizes or already wear a wide band, since tungsten carbide cannot be resized. Measure the inside diameter of a ring you wear and compare it with a US size chart.
Is 8mm too wide for a slim hand?
8mm is a bold width that sits noticeably across the finger. With slender fingers, size up so it slides comfortably, and expect it to read as a statement band.
What is wine barrel wood?
Wood from barrels used to age wine, usually oak, given a second life. Here it lines the inside of the band, so the grain rests against your skin.
Is this a black wood ring?
Not quite: the black is the tungsten carbide outside, and the wood keeps its natural color on the inside. From the outside it reads as a black band; the wood shows when you turn it or take it off.
Is a wood-lined ring comfortable?
Yes. Wood feels warmer against the skin than metal, and the sleeve sits smooth inside the 8mm band.
Will every ring have the same grain?
No. Grain and tone vary slightly from ring to ring, as with any natural wood, so yours is one of a kind.
How is a tungsten ring with wood inlay different from a wooden ring?
A ring made only of wood is light but can split or swell. Here the wood is a sleeve inside a tungsten carbide band, so you get the warmth of wood against the skin with a hard, scratch-resistant outside.
